Who is Bryant Irawan?

I was only a B student in high school and yet I was accepted to every school I applied for including Stanford, Harvard, all the UCs, USC (with a full ride scholarship), etc.

Again at Stanford, I was not the strongest applicant but I got accepted into every dental school I applied for including UPenn, Columbia, Harvard, UCSF, etc. I am also a former Stanford admissions interviewer.

Now, I am a managing dentist supervising several doctors under me. I’ve always had a passion for helping motivated students fulfill their dreams and do everything I can to get them where they want to go.

I am now a managing dentist and oversee a few doctors under me, only taking cases that interest me. I've had a lot of time to reflect: I've certainly been very lucky, getting accepted into the world's top schools (despite my grades) and propelling my career faster than I can imagine.

I credit this luck due to my essays. I wrote 40 drafts for my common app essay before I was satisfied. I tell my students their "essays" should be cinematic screenplays not a boring info brochure about the clubs they were in!

The time in high school crafting admissions essays is possibly one of the most important moments in your life. This could set you on a path to be a doctor, lawyer, or company executive vs. being an employee stuck on the corporate hamster wheel. Spend your time wisely!
